This was my second trip with Rowan Tree and I have another one booked. Found a safe way to travel with other enthusiastic knitters.

cotswolds walking holiday

The group of participants was just the right size and everyone was friendly. I had a wonderful time. I enjoyed seeing Snowshill. That was a unique travel stop that I might not have chosen to go to on my own, but it was so interesting and quirky. The Hidcote gardens inspired me to work a little harder on my gardens at home. And, the Giffords Circus couldn't have been any more fun. Then there was the spa/baths, soooo relaxing. What else am I not remembering? I enjoyed it all. The Abbey, Roman Baths, the ruins, the churches, we covered a lot of tourist attractions along with our hiking. However great the touring was, the hiking and scenery were at the top of my list of reasons why I liked the tour.

I am forever grateful to have made the connections I made there, and to have the experiences that I did. Viv's studio and the paper workshop with Marty and Marilyn will forever live in my heart. Thank you so much!

This is a must do fiber tour! We saw so much of beautiful New Zealand and so many sheep! The workshops were fantastic, and being able to go to Hobbiton was incredible. I would recommend the WETA workshop and the aquarium in Auckland. The Middlehurst sheep station was a true highlight of the tour. But it wasn't just about fiber, we saw some truly interesting places like Zealandia, the blue penguins, the albatross nesting place, and the Giants House. And be sure to take an extra bag to bring home all the goodies you will find.

I'm so pleased to have been able to do this walking trip and to have observed the lovely countryside and historical context of this area. It was fabulous.

Rowan Tree provided us with carefully orchestrated event planning, excellent food choices and hotels. Hosts were aware that some of us did not fancy long walks loaded down with yarn purchases, and made transportation easy and reliable. They really went above and beyond to be sure we had a lovely week.

It was our first ever mother and daughter trip AND our first time going on a group tour. WE LOVED IT! As fiber artists who knit, spin, dye, and more we truly enjoyed exploring wool in the Cotswolds. Every aspect of our trip was fun. We enjoyed getting to know the other members in our group and our fiber guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and communicative. We especially appreciated the daily hikes and look forward to joining a future RTT walking tour again!

My first solo travel experience was with Rowan Tree. I highly recommend them. The accommodations were lovely. The guides were knowledgeable, professional and approachable. The content was varied and interesting. The pace was good. We saw many things but didn't spend excessive time on the bus. Excellent all the way around! Thank you.
