knitting in northern italy

When asked by family what my favorite activity was, I couldn't choose just one... Meeting the animals, local yarn shops, the farmers market with making and eating pesto and pasta, riding the country roads, the festival... Of course the fabulous food... So much care was put into the plan for each day and it showed. THANK YOU 😘

barcelona knits & beyond: a surreal adventure w with sisterhood fibres

This was a great trip! The only change I’d make is to hand out a second ribbon or a sticker at the beginning of the trip for people to wear. This would make it easy to identify our trip mates as we get to know them.

threads of iceland: wool and wonders on the raw south coast

Anna was an AMAZING fiber ambassador. She knew exactly when we needed a fiber fix and managed to wrangle a small farm visit in to our busy schedules. There was always plenty of time for the fiber events. I never felt rushed.

wool & whisky

I would recommend this tour in a heartbeat! Hotels were lovely, the food was amazing, and the visits to members of the wool/artisan community - small sheep/goat farmers, dyers, etc. - were just a joy. Lindsay and Helen were wonderful guides/hosts. Every day brought with it a new adventure, memories, and photo opportunities! Also a really interesting, friendly, and enthusiastic group of women. I would definitely do another Rowan tour.

Rowan Tree Travel provides holistic experiences that immerse tour participants. We aren't just travelers or artists or historians; we are active participants in the very fiber of a country, learning not just the craft at hand but the cultural background, the current events, the historical precedents, the very landscape which impacts the artisans lives. The tour lasts mere days: the impact of the experience can last a lifetime, if you let it.

silver screen fashions: sydney & tasha take hollywood!

This trip was the best way to explore LA for a person who has never been there and is a vintage fashion and film enthusiast. It felt very different to the trips I've attended before. I think it's because of the sense of community - being with people who have the same interests. Even though English is not my mother language, everyone was very understanding and helpful (even regarding organising our prolonged stay in LA after our trip was finished!). The trip itself was very well balanced - enough time to explore, shop, eat, relax and socialize. Looking forward to our next adventure with Rowan Tree Travel :)

bergen strikkefestival & beyond

The trip to Norway was just perfect! It combined all of my favorite things; knitting, history, beautiful landscapes, learning new fiber techniques, meeting a group of intrepid knitters and of course, having incredible tour Fiber Ambassadors who handled our itinerary and any glitches with ease! I cannot wait to go on another adventure with Rowan Tree!!

wool & wonders of iceland

The Wool and Wonders of Iceland tour exceeded my expectations. The scenery was amazing and the visits to the sheep and goat farms and to the dyers’ shops were fascinating. Needless to say, I bought a lot of yarn. Most of which we don’t have available to us in the States.

wool & wonders of iceland

What a great way to experience Iceland! We saw and experienced so much of the island. I had a memorable time that will stay with me forever. Thanks to all involved.

a color explosion of oaxacan culture & folk art with sisu designs

My trip to Oaxaca exceeded my expectations. It’s such a colorful city, packed with beautiful murals, delicious food, and warm gracious people. Rowan Tree not only knows the city well, but they also introduced us to many amazing artists. I want to go back!
