This tour exceeded my expectations by 100%. If you love vintage and knitting, this is a MUST DO tour. Nothing else like it and the attention to detail is exceptional. I didn't want to go and made so many new friends.

greece: an ionian knitting odyssey with sisu designs
This was my first time traveling abroad. Rowan Tree put together a sensational trip with wonderful experiences and adventures that were off the beaten path, as well as the must see sites like the Acropolis in Athens. They assembled a great group of travel companions and some great local guides. They handled the details, kept us safe and on track while giving us freedom to wander and explore in equal measure. Our Rowan Tree guides were knowledgeable, approachable and and just all around wonderful. Did I use the words great and wonderful too often? No, that was intentional. Can't wait to travel with them again.

OMGosh what a wonderful way to tour places I have never been, with an insider's view of an something I love (knitting). We go off the beaten path to get immersed in local culture, fiber related activities, history lessons, food and drink. All with a diverse group of fellow yarnimals who enjoy laid back travel, fun and socializing. There is plenty of teaching and learning going on within the group, lots of laughter and much to see and do.

wool & wonders of iceland
This trip exceeded my expectations. As a tourist I felt like I was getting an insider's view of the country by having an Icelandic guide. This was not a touristy visit. It was an experience of the culture and people of Iceland seen through the role that wool plays in the culture, economy and livelihood of it's people. Our guide was tuned into our need for coffee, bathroom breaks and our desire to find yarn. The activities and experiences were varied and balanced with amazing food and unique accommodations. The group of knitters quickly became friends, sharing knitting tips and experiencing the excitement of the trip together.

What a great trip! We saw so many beautiful places and things-yarn and wool mills, an apple orchard, a chocolate factory, a boat ride up the Shannon, a knitting workshop, a needle felting workshop, a lace museum, and of course castles. What's not to like? This trip was a great value and I would definitely recommend.

This trip exceeded all my expectations! I saw so many different aspects of Iceland that I would not have been able to do on my own. The fiber ambassadors were awesome and made this a most memorable experience. The small group size allowed for meaningful interaction and the sharing of our love of fiber and animals. Thank you Rowan Tree Travel!

I love the fiber-centric focus of this trip. I learned so much about Ireland's culture through fiber and made friends I'm sure I'll see again, The trip was well-organized, the tour guide was knowledgeable and graciously flexible in rearranging activities when circumstances warranted. An altogether outstanding trip!
