My second trip with Rowan Tree and am already planning on traveling with them next year! Fabulous staff who are uber-accommodating and knowledgeable, local visits I would never find on my own, first-rate food and lodging, and a lovely and congenial group of fiber enthusiasts with whom to travel.

So enjoyed this tour. The whisky portion appealed to my husband so we both got to indulge our passions together. Each day offered excellent and ample food, sights to see and time to relax on our own. A perfect and well proportioned mix.

I had never been on a package tour before, and was a bit apprehensive about not being in control of my holiday. With this tour, I was offered experiences that I would not have even thought of. It was a wonderful balance of history and contemporary life, through the lense of artisanship . A true celebration of human creativity. There was enough free time included for choosing our own activities too.

I am forever grateful to have made the connections I made there, and to have the experiences that I did. Viv's studio and the paper workshop with Marty and Marilyn will forever live in my heart. Thank you so much!

Terrific mix of fun people, tons of sheep, excellent food & housing, and learning about many elements of this interesting locale, it's history, and issues for its future.

This tour exceeded my expectations in every way. The accommodations were unique and special, and the food was outstanding. More importantly to me, I was exposed to people, places, and experiences that I never would have found on my own. We were allowed a nice mix of time to explore on our own with more formatted tours and talks/classes. My daughter, who was not a knitter before the trip, never felt left out and was able to feel part of the group. When she decided to try some knitting, she had many willing teachers at the evening knit alongs!

This is a must do fiber tour! We saw so much of beautiful New Zealand and so many sheep! The workshops were fantastic, and being able to go to Hobbiton was incredible. I would recommend the WETA workshop and the aquarium in Auckland. The Middlehurst sheep station was a true highlight of the tour. But it wasn't just about fiber, we saw some truly interesting places like Zealandia, the blue penguins, the albatross nesting place, and the Giants House. And be sure to take an extra bag to bring home all the goodies you will find.

The Make, Walk and Explore Tour was incredible. Journaling, learning about different modes of writing, learning to paint with watercolor, learning to felt, and learning the history of the region from wonderful women presenters, along with the three great guides, the incredible farm and the commaraderie of the group made this a vacation I will long cherish and remember.

Travel and knitting are my two greatest interests, so the ability to combine the two with RTT makes for a fantastic time!
