wool & wonders of new zealand
This was the trip of a lifetime. A chance to travel with a wonderful group of people. We had so many special experiences-some fiber moments, as well as opportunities to learn the rich history of New Zealand and to experience the magnificent wildlife. I leave with a respect for the place and its people feeling like I’ve had a glimpse into some of the special corners.

murder, she knit: a woolly whodunit across devon & cornwall
“Murder She Knits,” a mystery themed knitting trip, was so well thought out and clever and made for great group dynamics and lots of laughter. We enjoyed a variety of “field trips” to historical sites, beautiful gardens and stunning coastal landscapes as well as yarn producers and independent shops. Our accommodations were excellent and delicious food was abundant. Ending the trip in London’s WestEnd was just perfect. This was my fourth RTT trip and will certainly not be my last!

I loved how you put a high value on including local cultural experiences in addition to feeding my fiber addiction!

Rowen Tree Travels offer well organized knitting and cultural tours. Guides and organizers are approachable, knowledgeable about the culture of the country and kind. Looking forward to my next trip with them.

If you are interested in a textile-focused travel experience, I would recommend one of the myriad of destinations that Rowan Tree Travel offers as you are immersed in the culture and the innovators/makers of beautiful fiber craft!

A wide ranging tour that hit the "best of" New Zealand, with great included options, free time to explore exactly what YOU want and shopping time. If you're concerned about the two nights with shared bathrooms, don't be! One of our travelers nailed it saying "it's like a dorm." There were never any lines, and the time at Middlehurst Sheep station (the location) was one of the highlights of the trip with superlative food. Lodgings were fun boutique hotels (no chains) that were comfortable, clean, and centrally located. Having one stop with a washer/dryer in your room was a brilliant choice by Jo! Would gladly go again and travel with tour leaders Jo and Kay any time, any where. Sarah S.

Would recommend to knitters, fiber curious, and even non-knitters -- from the places visited to the food to the manor house accommodations!

I felt as if I entered a magical kingdom when we first arrived at The Faroe Islands. What a beautiful part of the world it is. I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to visit!

This is the first international knitting tour I’ve ever taken, and I Didn’t know what to expect. It Was amazing! Not only did we visit many local yarn shops, but we also explored gardens, cultural and historic places, markets, Seaside towns, and the accommodations were top notch! Traveling was easy and the fiber ambassadors were knowledgeable and helpful and other people on the tour were a delight! On day three of this tour, I went to their website to see if they had any availability for future tours! I am ready to go, and next time I will bring an extra suitcase for all the yarn that I will buy!

RRT found the cultural and local treasures of Cornwall that I could have never found with my own research. They clearly scouted the trip and know their audience. While I'm not really into murder mysteries, they made it so much fun, I really got into it. Go even if you're not a mystery buff.
