wool & whisky with wandering ewes

We had a wonderful taste of Scotland in 10 short days. The hotels and manor homes were warm and comfortable. We were exposed to several different regions, each with their own unique offerings, from high tea at the Balmoral hotel, to a cuddle with Cashmere goats along the coast of the North Sea. We experienced fiber and textiles in all stages of creation. The food was delicious and varied. We learned a bit about the history and the current state of the government and how the royals live. A fabulous trip all around!

an ionian knitting odyssey with longmont yarn

Rowan Tree Travel offers the most amazing and well thought out Fiber Themed Tours to wonderful locations. The guides are knowledgeable and available. There are a variety of fiber and non-fiber activities planned for participants while still allowing individuals the freedom to make the trip their own with free time and optional participation in group activities. My spouse, a non-knitter, travelled with the group and fit in quite well. Smaller size groups like this one allow for participants to connect one on one with everyone (if they choose) and many friendships were forged on this trip. Being on the The Aegeotissa II was the experience of a lifetime - the crew was amazing, food fantastic, a magical experience! And I will NEVER forget the beautiful waters and people I experienced while traveling the Ionian Sea!! Thank you Suzie and Heather!

a color explosion of oaxacan culture & folk art with sisu designs

The Oaxaca Textile Tour is incredible! We had access to artisans and their studios that the average tourist does not get. Learning about the people, their history and culture thru visits to museums, markets, villages and studios gave me a new perspective and respect for the Oaxacans. It was an amazing experience!

wool & whisky: shetland edition w/kid ewe knot

I have never had anything but good things to say about Rowan Tree tours - the itinerary, the travel, the people! I look forward to my next tour. What a great way to visit places I haven’t been - with in depth cultural experiences plus fiber related activities. And the people I’ve met, both travelers and staff! Have been wonderful.

Everything about the Wales fiber trip was perfect. Activities were well planned and communicated. Really, all that was left to do was relax and enjoy the experience and meeting wonderful fellow travelers.

It is a wonderful adventure visitng beautiful, ancient cultural sites and learning about and participating in creating the beautiful arts and crafts India is famous for. If you go, give the elepants a hug for me and Meera, the lovely, sweet dog in Jaipur.

a color explosion of oaxacan culture & folk art with sisu designs

The Oaxacan Tour was an exceptional trip into the culture and lives (past and present) of the Zapotec artisans. I would do the same tour again, it was that wonderful. Lovely local people, amazing art and crafts, great access to locally produced goods at fair prices, and special foods, made just for us. And, the markets are astonishing! The week flew by way too fast.
