Janie has traveled in Mexico literally all her life. She's inexplicably drawn to this part of the world where something tight in her shoulders relaxes, her heart opens, and her mind is able to explore, question and delight. Wanting to share this magic, she began hosting groups in Oaxaca as a retirement project.

By profession, Janie was a clinical social worker specializing in child welfare, women's rights, and community building, all of which inform her tour guiding to this day. She resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and loves to read, dance, volunteer in her community, hike, practice her foodie habits, and plan her next Mexico sojourn.
