Liz Beasley, Fiber Ambassador Wales, UK and walking specialist, must optimize her time and knit while she walks because she is back in this summer edition with another beautiful work in progress. This time it’s Fiorellino by Isabel Kraemer showcasing Fior di Lino by MYAK yarn. Just a few more rows and she’ll be sporting this fancy T! 

Joanne (Jo) Saunderson, Fiber Ambassador New Zealand, recently shared her newest endeavor—needle lace. She is using this form of embroidery to create nature-inspired earrings and other decorative items. 

“I love to use nature and wildlife as my inspiration. I have made the various leaves in different sizes, shapes, and weights of white cotton. The design - base lines are in the background on a piece of paper so I can keep the shape. I couch the base thread on top of a cover seal light enough to sew through. Then I work on top of the plastic using a buttonhole stitch, I can manipulate the stitch to make different sizes.

When this is completed, I snip all the couching stitches and the leaf comes off complete. I dyed the leaf using three colours to get the autumn colours.”
