Wool & Whisky

September 4 - 15, 2021

Our signature tour! Each fall we share our favorite things about Scotland with you ⏤ its enchanting landscape, rich history, wonderful flavors, and (of course) a sampling of wool producers, artisans and designers.  A wee dram or two might be appropriate while knitting in the local pubs. Been on Wool & Whisky? There’s SO MUCH MORE to do and see in Scotland. We’re taking you to Glasgow, the Outer Hebrides, the north Atlantic coastal highlands and on to Orkney. Glasgow is brilliant, vibrant and cutting edge – full of opportunities to explore Scotland’ history and contemporary culture. Then we’re off to the dramatic landscapes of the west coast. Good food, good people, good learning and lots of good fiber. It's going to be another grand tour!

Walking Adventure in Scotland's Outer Hebrides

Not Yet Scheduled

Off the west coast of Scotland lies an archipelago of islands, known to Scots as “the Western Isles”. These islands, from tiny Barra in the south, to the more well known islands of Lewis and Harris in the north, are home to the largest population of Scottish Gaelic speakers and are the only place allowed to produce the famed Harris Tweed. The landscape varies greatly, from soft, white beaches to rugged mountains, fields of flowering machair, bogs and lakes aplenty. Days of hiking alternate with time at local crofts, ferry crossings, farm-to-table restaurants, seasonal events and the unforgettable Callanish Standing Stones.
