The Fall Abbotsford Retreat

A six day retreat in the lovely Borders of Scotland, at the home of Sir Walter Scott. We’ll enjoy creative workshops and afternoon wanders in the countryside

Wool & Whisky

September 4 - 16, 2021

Our signature tour! Each fall we share our favorite things about Scotland with you ⏤ its enchanting landscape, rich history, wonderful flavors, and (of course) a sampling of wool producers, artisans and designers.  A wee dram or two might be appropriate while knitting in the local pubs. Includes time on the Isle of Skye, north to Inverness and Loch Ness, through the Scottish Highlands and in Edinburgh.

Knitting in the Northern Borders with Kid Ewe Knot

A Fiber Adventure in Copenhagen & the Faroe Islands

September 24 - October 3, 2021

Nine days in the north Atlantic's brilliant environments ⏤ from hip, urban Copenhagen to the windswept shores of the Faroes.  We'll explore them both, getting in time with local knitters, hands-on workshops in traditional techniques, adventurous wanders and stash-enhancing opportunities at Strikkefest, Copenhagen's Knitwork Festival.

Iceland, off the beaten path

October 5 - 15, 2021

Our adventure starts at the tip-top of Iceland, with whale watching and a visit to spectacular volcanic lake, Myvatn. Next we travel around the east coast of the country. Authentic food, rugged landscape and coastal views will be ours. The trip southward then breaks for a mini-retreat inside Vatnajökull National Park. And once in the south, we'll visit Iceland's famous black beach at Vik and get to know the fiber community on the Woolen Circle. Might we catch a view of the Northern Lights??? We'll certainly be on the lookout! Our trip concludes in Reykjavik. Easy to add on a day or two for exploring the city.

Ireland Through
the Maker's Lens

Join us as we explore the Emerald Isle's  lively capital city, verdant countryside,  traditional villages and western Atlantic shore. Along the way, we'll meet some of Ireland's most influential fiber folks - teachers, designers, dyers and doers - and hear about the current struggle to keep Irish wool production alive. Our trip also includes visits to archaeological sites, breweries and distilleries, hands-on workshops, local live music and so much more. We can't wait to share Ireland with you.

A Wool Lover's Visit to New Mexico

November 1 - 9, 2021

We are excited to host you fiber enthusiasts in the Land of Enchantment (New Mexico). This part of the United States has history, people and a landscape unlike any other. Come for a week of amazing food and sunny skies. Get to know our mosaic of cultures. And, of course, we'll spend time with local wool/fiber animals /artisans. This tour is focused on Northern New Mexico, and includes two nights in Albuquerque, the remainder in Santa Fe, the City Different.

Join us for a walking and creativity trip overseas. We've chartered the Aegeotissa and will be sailing from island to island while hiking (4-6 miles), swimming, visiting villages, markets, artisans, archeological sites, and sampling local food. Each morning will offer a facilitated, creative work session.
