A Wool Lover's Visit to the North of England

September 26 - October 6, 2022

Join Rowan Tree Travel for a fiber-infused exploration of England’s northlands. We’ll be adventuring through the Yorkshire Dales, the beautiful Lake District, across moors, through towns and villages, plus enjoy the coastline of Northumberland. A grand crew of artisans, yarn farmers, designers and historians will meet with us to convey the story of this region’s rich textile history and the current state of its wool industry. Of course, there are wonderful, iconic inns and amazing food to be had… as befits any Rowan Tree Travel tour. We’ll even stay in our own castle for a couple of nights. What could be better?

Knitting in the Canadian Maritimes

September 26 - October 5, 2022

Come with us to Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia as we explore two of the three Canadian Maritime provinces. On Prince Edward Island, known as The Gentle Island, we will visit alpacas and mills, walk on it's famous red sand beaches, visit local artisan shops, learn the traditional craft of rug hooking and dance at an island ceilidh. In Nova Scotia the fibre reverence continues with a linen mill tour, woolen blankets, sheep and yarn and unabashedly more yarn! On the rather small island of Big Tancook, we will spend a day with Lucy Neatby in a private workshop on double knitting. Accommodation will be in grand old inns and characterful cottages, all within view of the ever present ocean.

Trip Cost (not including airfare):
